Moving Into My Own Place

Moving Into A New House

Ah, the joy of being out of the dorms. Not having to share a room, a bathroom, a public space….it is AMAZING! As of March 27th, 2009, I leased my own house with two of my best friends. I am thankful for this decision everyday. I do not miss the dorms one bit. The only thing that completely sucked was having to move all of my stuff from my dorm, to my new house with a small 2003 Ford Focus and a 2003 Chevy Caviler. I had so many pictures on my wall in the dorm it was ridiculous. It took me nearly an hour to get everything off of my walls and in boxes to take to the new house. After getting everything moved in from my dorm, the hard part was having to go to Knoxville to get all my furniture. Let me tell you, I picked probably the worst day possible to go get my furniture, not only was it cold, but it was pouring down rain like no one’s business. By the time we got back to Cookeville, my mattress and box spring were completely soaked, even after being wrapped in plastic multiple times. But, on the upside, it dried within a few hours and I was able to sleep on it that night. After many trips to Knoxville, and many trips to Walmart and Big Lots, the house is almost complete. All I am missing is one piece of furniture and that is not bad at all. Our living room is gorgeous and we have the cutest kitchen around. And last but not least, we also live across the street from two more of our best friends! That is probably the most convenient thing ever, having two of your friends who do most the stuff that you do, right across the street from you!
