Anti-Essay Blog

Anti Essay, Unit 4

The poetic terrorism was very interesting. Some of the things that it told you to go out and do were awesome. For example, kidnap someone and make them happy. People get kidnapped all the time, but do you ever think if the person is far more happier now, then where they were before. OR burglarizing someone’s house, but not stealing anything, but in turn leaving something behind with meaning, such as art of some kind for them to admire. This short essay/ article makes me want to hop right out of my chair and go change the world at this very second.

Street theatre was very interesting to me. Having something prepared, such as a play or short skit and performing it in front of no specific audience, may seem completely crazy and pointless, but it is not. People that do street theatre, do it for the love of the show, they do it to reach out to people, but no one in particular. One of the groups for Anti-essay did this sort of thing for their project. I found this hilarious… the Easter Bunny, Santa, Cupid, the Turkey from Thanksgiving, and a leprechaun all starred in this lovely short comedy. I really admired their courage to go to a big and random group of people to perform this.

The YouTube video that stood out to me was the Chalk art video. I thought it was really cool how people just go out and put these things on sidewalks for people to admire. One of the girls in our class did this for her Anti-essay and it was really cool. It might could possibly become very frustrating if it rains the very next day, but that probably is not the point. The point is to spread a message to people through a creative way of doing things. Chalk art does this and lets you show your creativity to the world.
