Camping Trip
Oh, the joys of camping. I, personally had never been camping before, so this was an interesting experience for me. So, as the day started off, we decided to meet at the Phi Delta Theta house at 6:00 p.m. SHARP! Well, needless to say, that did not happen, it really never does. Everyone decided to go get food, or go get things to make smores, or they forgot something, etc. etc. We finally headed out by 7:15 p.m. After about twenty minutes, we finally reach our destination; Greg McKinney’s field. Of course, since we were late, by the time we reach the campsite it starts to get dark. Now, do not forget that we have to still set up all the tents, STILL not everyone is there AND we have not started the fire. By the time we all got set up and everyone arrived at the site it was almost nine. Then they decided that it would be a good time to start the fire. I absolutely loved how we all just stayed out by the campfire and were just able to sit and talk and be chill with everyone for a total of at least four hours. Some made smores, some tried to roast hotdogs… emphasis on TRIED, others just sat around, listened to music and talked the night away. By about one a.m. I was tired. I had set up my entire tent and I was ready for bed. Sad thing is, I ended up waking up at 5:45 a.m. and NOT being able to go back to sleep. No matter how hard I tried, I failed. After about wrestling around for about twenty minutes, I decided to pack up my stuff, like others had done already, and head out to my own warm bed. I ended up sleeping until 5:00 p.m. But, overall it was a very nice time and I can not wait to go again.
