My First Blog (about the reading assignment)

My reading assignment was from the book They Say I Say. The opening part of this reading was very interesting and it caught my attention right off the bat. The author did a really good job with the hook. I really liked the point that the author made when he said that teachers needed to teach subjects that the students liked first, then move on to the other subjects. I liked his story about him growing up and not being interested in school work at all. I could relate his experiences to mine when he said that he could read all kinds of sports magazines and really get into it, but when it came to school work he just could grasp it as well. I love it when older people share stories of their past. The author's points were very valid in my belief. I believe he would be a great teacher and would be able to make students more in tune with their school work. When i was in high school I never got into any of the readings. I always would go off and read other material other than my school work. I can not remember the last book I actually fully read completely thru for a high school assignment. If I had a teacher in high school that tried to reach out and fully hit my interests, I might have actually gotten into the school work more. The school work always bored me and I did the least I could do to just pass by. I was very glad he wrote this article and voiced his points about this sitation.
